The Wordsmith Celebrant

Forging your stories into

unique & memorable ceremonies.

About Me

Well, the first thing I should say is it isn't about me at all... it's about you!

Whether it be a wedding celebration, renewal of vows, funeral or celebration of life, the people at the heart of each and every ceremony - and the stories they want to tell - are unique.

I love hearing those stories and forging them into ceremonies that truly reflect my clients, with evocative and engaging scripts to help make the occasion memorable for the right reasons.

I take pride in delivering ceremonies with humanity, wit and genuine empathy, conveying exactly the message and tone my clients wanted.

Wedding Ceremonies

If you are planning to get married and don't want a religious service, or even the formulaic Registrar's offering, why not build your own ceremony? No restrictions on location or content - a celebration that truly reflects you as a couple.

It's simple and inexpensive to have the 'legal' part done first, and then the real celebration can begin!

Renewal Ceremonies

Maybe you've been married for some time, but want to re-affirm that relationship with a 'renewal of vows' ceremony. Maybe you entered a Civil Partnership and never had a chance to make a public proclamation of your love. A ceremony designed especially for you is a loving and joyous opportunity to celebrate you as a couple.

Funerals & Celebrations of Life

When someone you love passes away, their funeral is likely to be the most challenging moment on your journey of bereavement.

Choosing the right person to deliver that funeral is crucial. You need someone who takes time to get to know the family and their stories. Someone who then crafts those stories into a ceremony that encapsulates the essence of your loved-one.

My aim is to make this most difficult of moments as positive as possible. To close one chapter of life's story gently and with love. To help the bereaved reflect on their loss as much with a wistful smile as with a tear.

Toastmaster

After the wedding ceremony comes the celebration and, if you want that to go to plan, you should consider engaging a Toastmaster to manage the event.

Head over to my 'Men in Red' website and I'll explain a little more...

My Values

I strongly believe that everyone is entitled to have the ceremony that they want, regardless of who they are or who they love.

I am also conscious that, while the majority of providers in the wedding and funeral professions are fundamentally fair and equitable, they may not take the time to say it. They may not let everyone know they can be themselves.

So, here I am, saying that I will celebrate you and your life, simply because it deserves celebrating whatever it looks like.

Eliza
"Hi Michael, just wanted to thank you again for the way you handled the service yesterday. A couple of people asked me if you knew mum, so you clearly ‘got’ her perfectly and pitched it just right"
